Thin and flimsy I would not recommend this wall set. It is almost as thin as a milk jug and is so thin that you can clearly see the adhesive through the plastic wall set. Save time and money by not trying to install this and then have the additional expense of tear-out and replacement. March 3, 2014

    What Glue do I use

The corners do not fit due to an out of square corner (about 1/4 of an inch over the width of the corner piece). Since the shelves act as fillets there is not enough give in the corner pieces to easily draw then together to close the gap.
I am even having trouble installing the corner on the other square corner.

I am using Liquid Nails tub surround glue as recommended by the vendor (lowes)

This glue doesn't seem to set. I have clamped and held the pieces together for over 24 hrs and the glue is still tacky and will not hold. I am about to resort to sheet metal screws to hold this together.

I believe my problems are due to bad engineering and design. This product is not designed for remodels where nothing is square or plumb (especially my house)

this isn't my first rodeo installing a tub surround. Others by different manufactures install in about two to three hours.

    Hi,

Thank you for your question about the Aspect Bathtub Wall Set. The walls need to be square in order for this surround to work. The type of glue you want to use should be ok for tubs and surrounds, as well as safe for plastics and polystyrene.

    Thanks,

Another adhesive and installation question from someone else

I have used adhesives on two of your wall sets in our downstairs bathrooms with only partial success (the caulking along the seams doesn't seem to hold like it holds the kit to the wall). I purchased one of your cheaper "Aspect" wall sets for our upstairs hall bath as it will only be used by the kids.
Where the shelves are on the corner pieces, the corners seem to be drawn in slightly. I did not have this problem with the higher priced kits. I need an adhesive that will hold WELL.
I understand why you cannot recommend a particular adhesive/caulk due to formulas changing. But can someone there tell me what brand and type of caulk they would use? I guarantee not to hold anyone liable. I just want your best "guess." All the old hardware stores are gone and the "associates" in the paint departments and in the bath departments haven't got a clue.
If I can't get a suggestion of any kind from the manufacturer, who CAN I get a suggestion from?

A lip on the edge of the corner panel that fits against the side panel

There was a previous question about this but I don't think it was answered correctly. There is a curved out lip on the side edge of the corner panel that does not sit flat against the side panel. Why is that and how can that be properly installed?

    Hello,

Thank you for your question, the, lip of the edge of corners is the nature of the product, the way this was made, please see our website mascobath.com then Peerless then click on that model# for installation instructions , as it shows on dry fit , put corners and wall piece up to each other , after glued in place there will be a small gap in top of corner you may fill with caulk to finish off.

    Hello,

Thank you for your question, I am sorry we cannot recommend a specific adhesive due to the sometimes possible changing of the chemical makeup of the adhesive. The tube should say ok to use on polystyrene plastic.

why is there a lip on the corner panels?

The corner panels with the three shelves has a lip on the edge that will fit up against the side panels. It seems this will not give a smooth fit for the adhesive to adhere to. The other edge that fits the center panel has an offset to go over the center panel and that will give a smoother fit it seems. Is there some special way to install these panels to fit the sides better

    Hello,

Thank you for your question, if you are speaking of the 4inch extension (to bring the side panels from 27 1/2 inches to the 31 inches )on the corner panel you can trim it off if you do not need that extension or overlap plastic to plastic and put a bead of caulk down.
