Will It Fit My Kitchen Sink?

To find a faucet that works with your kitchen sink, you need to:

  1. Determine the number of holes in your sink using the pictures and descriptions below.
  2. If your sink has 3 or 4 holes, determine the space between the holes.

3-Hole Sink

A 3-hole sink is very common. The faucet generally has a plate which covers the three holes (called an escutcheon or deck plate).

Sinks generally come in one of three configurations: 6″, 8″, and 6″–16″. Often the holes are covered by the faucet. You will need to measure the width between the outer holes or estimate by measuring the width of the deck plate.

4-Hole Sink

A 4-hole sink is the most common. The faucet generally is like a 3-hole faucet (see above), with the addition of a soap dispenser or sprayer.

2-Hole Sink

A 2-hole sink usually has one hole with a single-hole faucet, and a second hole with an accessory, such as a sprayer or soap dispenser. This may also be a bar or prep sink.

1-Hole Sink

A 1-hole sink only has a single hole faucet. There is no escutcheon or deck plate. There are no accessories.
