What if hot is cold and cold is hot

Asked by: Turtle
Dear Turtle, Thank you for your inquiry. If your cold and hot water is flowing opposite of the indicator on the plate, you would need to remove the Peerless P188710 cartridge assembly and rotate it 180 degrees and reinstall it. Best regards, Tanya

Temperature control

i have 103 degree water going into valve. I have adjusted the stops to maximize the temperature but only can get 99 degree water to come out of shower without any shower head. I have unit #188710. Please help, we have tried everything we can think of.
Asked by: Rich
Hi Rich, Thank you for your question. The model P188710 faucet is equipped with a rotational limit stop that does not allow the cartridge to flow at full hot. The water will always be a mix of hot and cold. The incoming water temperature would have to be raised to raise the outgoing temperature. Thanks, Dave

How do I remove the cartridge from the a Pearless tub/shower handle

Asked by: dennis
Hi Dennis, Thank you for your question. To access the cartridge on the model P188710 shower you will have to remove the handle, pull off the trim sleeve, remove the 2 escutcheon screws , escutcheon, and finally unscrew the trim sleeve holding the cartridge into the valve body. Make sure to shut off the water supply first. I have attached a link to the parts breakdown to help with the repair. Thanks, Dave http://www.peerlessfaucet.com/customer-support/find-repair-parts/documentation/p188710.html?document=pd&documentIndex=0

upgrade to Dual-Function shower trim and cartridge

I presently have this shower control installed. I would like to have separate control over the temp and water pressure. Previously I was told that I could use a Delta trim kit that begins with T17, but it physically does not fit. The adapter assembly is larger, and I can't be certain, but the cartridge also looks larger. Can you tell me which trim kit will fit in the rough-in valve body I already have in the wall? Thanks, Mike

Thanks, Jody. It would seem then that the P188710 specifications that say, "Includes MultiChoice Valve which allows for upgrade to Dual-Function shower trim and cartridge" are in accurate. I have a new home with three of these installed. Seems I can't upgrade to a dual function without cutting holes in the sheet rock and installing a new rough-in boxes. It would have been nice to know before the install...

Do I leave the black plastic piece on the valve? What are the "Bosses" that I need to twist off before installing trim?

How deep from the finished wall to the back of the valve assembly ? I need to know how deep to put the board I'm mounting the valve on.
Asked by: Mike
Hi Mike, Thank you for your question. Peerless Faucet model # P188710 can have the plasterguard left on if you would like to leave it on. The "Bosses" are the noseguard on the end of the plasterguard over the valve. We have included the spec for the model to show you how deep to install the valve for proper use. http://www.peerlessfaucet.com/customer-support/find-repair-parts/documentation/p188710.html?document=ts&documentIndex=0#viewDocument Thanks. How do you regulate the hot and cold water temperatures?

I just installed this product and looks great but I got to much cold water and not enough hot water for the shower.
Asked by: jimmy
Thank you for your question. Peerless Faucet model # P188710 contains a rotational limit stop. It may need adjusting to allow more hot water to come through the valve. Included here are the instructions for adjusting the rotational limit stop. The instructions are on page 5. http://www.peerlessfaucet.com/customer-support/find-repair-parts/documentation/p188710.html?document=mi&documentIndex=0#viewDocument
